Kenny Burns names which two Nottingham Forest players ‘have settled in quickly’

|

Kenny Burns was full of praise for Yohan Benalouane and Alexander Milosevic after Nottingham Forest drew 0-0 with Preston North End, saying the defensive pair have “settled in quickly” since their arrival in January.

Writing in Nottinghamshire Live, Burns said: “You can’t not be pleased with how Yohan Benalouane and Alexander Milosevic have done since they came in. They both seem to have settled in quickly. They look like very good additions.

“Getting your defence right is so important. You need to build from the back. Tobias Figueiredo and Danny Fox were superb together at the end of last season. But Milosevic and Benalouane have done just as well, so far. It’s a good partnership.”

Benalouane and Milosevic have played together in three of Forest’s last four Championship outings and have helped the Reds to consecutive stalemates against West Bromwich Albion and Preston.

With Michael Hefele ruled out for the season while Tobias Figueiredo and Michael Dawson are both out of action until March, Martin O’Neill needed new recruitments before the winter transfer window shut.

He brought in Benalouane from Leicester City for 18 months and Milosevic on a free transfer from AIK. The former has made five Championship appearances while the latter has featured four times in the league.

Forest are currently eight in the table with 47 points from 33 games, coming off the back of two wins and two draws from their last five. The Reds are six points adrift of the playoffs but have played more games than the sides in the top-six.
