If the speculation in the media is correct then Aitor Karanka is set to add another player to the Nottingham Forest squad who originates from the Iberian Peninsula.

Already, during the close season, Karanka has broken the clubs record transfer fee to bring the Portuguese midfielder, Joao Carvalho, to the club whilst also bringing in the Portuguese winger, Diogo Goncalves.

Speculation, courtesy of the news source the BBC, implies that Karanka is set to add a third Portuguese player to the squad.

The player in question this time is Gil Bastiao Dias, a 21-year-old winger who is on the books of Monaco.

Last season Dias, a Portuguese U21 international, spent the season in Serie A where he made 27 appearances for Fiorentina.

Karanka is hoping to secure a deal that would see the winger come to the City Ground on a season-long loan.

Our Spanish boss is certainly making an impact in the transfer window and has, it would seem, added some flair to the side, if Dias does become the third Portuguese signing of the summer transfer window, once the trio settle into life in England, we have high hopes that Nottingham Forest can make an impact in the promotion race next season.
