Here’s one way to make transfer deadline day less hectic, get your business done the day before.
That’s what Nottingham Forest and Sabri Lamouchi did last night as they sealed the deal for Congolese goalkeeper Samba Brice. The stopper joins on a four-year-deal from French club Caen where he comes with a pretty impressive clean sheet record of one every three games.
However, the new signing left a lot of fans asking the same questions. Why do they now have so many goalkeepers? What happens with current number one Aro Muric? Is he still number one? Did that disastrous opening day cost him his job already?
More importantly, or perhaps less importantly depending on your view of the situation, what does this mean for the likes of Costel Pantilimon, Jordan Smith and Luke Steele? Should we expect them to be making moves away from the City Ground today, or do they still have roles to play?
