The club have been linked with a move for Wolves midfielder Romain Saiss before the loan window shuts at the end of next week.

The Moroccan international was an integral part of the Midland club’s promotion season, making 42 appearances in the Championship.

However, the 28-year-old has yet to play a single minute in the Premier League so far this campaign. When I asked fans whether a move for Saiss would be a good idea, quite a few favoured snapping up the midfielder:

I’m not so sure myself. The club are still looking to offload a number of fringe players before the end of the month, and I think Aitor Karanka is probably keener to cut the squad’s size, rather than to increase it further.

If you were to ask me if Saiss could improve us then I would probably say ‘yes’ so I see where some supporters are coming from. At this stage though, it’s a rumour with very little substance behind it.
