Junior Agogo returned home to the City Ground today following his exploits in the ACON tournament with Ghana.

On his return he told the official site. ‘I feel fit and ready to play against Swindon if selected. The ACON was a great experience but now my focus is trying to get us promoted.’

Despite missing the last 6 games for the Reds, he’s still our top scorer, which goes to show how much we’ve missed him. During the tournament he scored 3 goals for the Black Stars to help them finish 3rd in the tournament. His good form has led to him being linked with a move away from Forest and this week there were tabloid reports of Portsmouth aiming to land him for £2.5M.

Speaking about the speculation Junior said. ‘I’m aware of all the speculation but that’s all it is as far as I’m concerned. I’m a Forest player and I want to do everything possible to secure the club a place in the Championship.’

He did get rave reviews for his part in Ghana’s success and was given the name of the ‘Prince of Nottinghamshire,’ as well as being offered the grand daughter of an 82 year old man as his wife for scoring the winning goal in the semi finals. Playing against Swindon on Saturday will no doubt bring him down to earth. We certainly need him.
