According to South London Press, Nottingham Forest defender Julian Bennett is about to join Crystal Palace on loan.

The paper says that the Eagles hope to have the deal completed tomorrow, in time for their game against Leicester City on Saturday. There’s no mention of the duration of the loan.

Bennett is a local lad, fans favourite and former player of the year. He hasn’t played first team football for a year and a half, since seriously damaging knee ligaments in the 4-2 defeat against Doncaster on Boxing Day 2008.

The player himself has stated that he will probably go out on loan and wherever he ends up I’m sure every Forest fan will wish him well and hope he can get his career back on track. The injury to his knee was so bad that many feared he would never play again. It’s a credit to the player that he’s managed to get this far, but grit and determination were always his strongest features. Everybody loves Jules.
