Jules Is A Gem For Forest

Julian Bennett is seen by many Forest fans as a player who is simply keeping the left back spot warm for when Matty Lockwood regains match fitness, but after some of his recent displays, that may not be the foregone conclusion it was.

He was given the man of the match accolade after his performance in the 2-0 win over Tranmere. His two crosses set up both the goals. Calderwood told the official site. ‘When Julian does that sort of thing he provides a great attacking threat for us. He knows that if he delivers the right balls into the right areas we will get bodies in position to take advantage.’

If he continues the form he’s showing at present then CC has another tough selection decision to make. Some of the rashness that was one of his main criticisms seems to have been brought under control this season. Although he has three yellow cards against his name, he has played in virtually every game this year, unlike last season when he spent much of it on the bench.

Bennett is a local lad who plays with a passion rarely seen in recent times at the City Ground. If he continues as he is, then it can only bode well for him and the club.
