Not the most convincing of performances, but it’s a win so you can’t really complain that much.

Nottingham Forest are through to the second round of the League Cup, having successfully navigated their way past Fleetwood Town last night. Tiago Silva’s goal just before the hour mark was enough to see Lamouchi’s men past a very stubborn Fleetwood side who certainly had their moments to cause problems.

In the end, it was a moment of magic that won the match. A lovely ball over the top by debutant John Bostock found its way to Silva who beat his man before firing into the roof of the net.

So how did the Forest fans react to a less than routine victory against a team in a lower division than them? Well, they started talking about going all the way, winning the competition and qualifying for Europe.

Whilst I admire their optimism and applaud them for trying to stay positive, it’s going to take a bit of a miracle for that to happen. Although, if there’s one club that knows about miracles, it’s Nottingham Forest.
