With a little over 5 weeks until the new season kicks off, Jamie Ward has finally been confirmed as the 2nd new signing to join Dougie Freedman’s Nottingham Forest.

Ward has made the short trip, to the right end of the Brian Clough Way and signs on a 4 year deal. The 29 year old winger has scored 79 in 281 appearances during his career, which includes playing for Chesterfield, Sheffield United and Derby.

Jamie Ward was quoted on Forest’s Official Site:

“I don`t think anyone expected it. But then I got the phone call and to be honest this was the only place I wanted to come to.

It feels a little bit strange but I`m excited about being here. The most important thing now is concentrating on what I can do for Nottingham Forest.’

Ward has yet to train with Forest, after being given an extra week off following his international exploits with Northern Ireland, but will join up with his fellow reds on Monday when they make the trip to their Swedish Training Camp.

Good luck Jamie, let’s hope you are as successful as the last forward, Robert Earnshaw, to make the switch!

Come On You Reds!!
