It’s Not Looking Good On Paper

I don`t like the way the numbers are stacking up guys and here`s why:

Back in January halfway through the season I figured we needed another 43 points more or less from our remaining 23 games to be in a with a good chance of automatic promotion.

Since then we have so far played 7 games and gained just 9 points. That is a disaster. If we maintain this crap form, we will end up with a season total of only 71 points. Not only would this be way off automatic qualification, but it won`t be even enough to make the playoffs on the basis of the last five seasons when an average of 74 points was needed.

To repeat, for an automatic promotion spot I reckon we need a season total around 84 points. That means we`re looking for another 34 points from our remaining 16 games. In plain English that`s 9 wins, 7 draws and no defeats. Any takers?

So the signs are that it`s the playoffs again but even for that we`ve got to perform a damn sight better in the coming weeks than we are doing at the moment.

Cholo.
