The draw was shown live on the BBC and Forest will play near neighbours Lincoln City away, in the first round of this years FA Cup.

The two sides are no strangers to each other. Lincoln away is a fixture many fans look out for in the pre season warm up. Although they are regular opposition in pre season friendlies, you have to go all the way back to 1957 for the last time we met in a competitive match.

Last time the two sides met was back in the old Division 2, away at Sincil Bank. Forest won 2-0. The two sides have met 27 times, with the Reds winning 13, drawing 9 and losing 5. This being the FA cup though, will mean that form counts for nothing.

The Imps are having a sorry season so far and sit bottom of League 2, with only 9 points from 13 games. John Schofield and director of football John Deehan were sacked earlier this month and they are still on the lookout for a new manager.

All in all, not a bad draw for the first round. We should get a fair few tickets, as Sincil Bank has a capacity of nearly 11,000 and their average is about 3,500. The game should be a sellout and with Forest reserve defender Hamza Bencherif there on loan, it adds a bit of spice. That said, he’s only made 5 appearances for them so far, so I might be bigging it up a bit too much. First round fixtures will take place over the weekend of November 10.
