As we approach the business end of the transfer market, the latest confirmed, definite piece of news surrounds Ishmail Miller.

Gary Johnson had made it abundantly clear on several occasions that he wanted Miller back at Yeovil, who scored 3 in 7 appearances in the previous emergency loan spell and he was apparently equally keen to return.

For whatever reason, Forest delayed the deal but have now agreed for Miller to see out the remainder of the season and his Forest contract on loan. The deal does preclude Miller from playing against Forest in the upcoming Championship fixture.

The powerful striker has failed to force his way into Billy Davies’s plans, despite a clear message that we are seeking a new striker – to bolster the promotion push.

Let’s just hope that the latest departure is paving the way for one or more of the rumoured transfer targets to arrive on Trentside before the clock ticks down.
