Injury Round Up

With the treatment table being very much the focus during pre-season I thought it might be an idea to round up the latest on the ever growing Forest injury list.

Winger Arron Davies is having a scan on his ankle after a poor tackle in the pre season ‘friendly` at Motherwell but the prognosis is not good after it was revealed on the official site by boss Colin Calderwood that he is hobbling around on crutches. James Perch also took a knock in the same game but it is thought that he will be ok to start the season.

There is some good news regarding the reds other capture from Yeovil as Chris Cohen is being lined up for the Sheffield United game after a groin operation at the start of the season. A decision on Junior Agogos participation in the friendly games next week will be taken on Monday morning but it is hoped that the striker will play some part against Notts County or Derby County.

Sammy Clingan, Grant Holt and Ian Breckin have all recovered from their respective injuries and so all will be available for the 1st game of the season provided they do not pick up any more knocks.

So to summarise, the following players are currently out of action:

Nathan Tyson – will definitely miss the start of the season but should return within weeks and not months

Arron Davies – having a scan on a potential ankle-break but looks likely to miss the start of the season

Junior Agogo – has not played a game in pre-season but should be involved at the start of the season

James Perch – likely to be fit for the start of the season

Chris Cohen – should be fit for the start of the season but unlikely to be match fit after not playing a game so far during pre-season

This leaves Forest with only two first team strikers and no right midfielders currently available for selection. It has been suggested that Colin Calderwood is after a centre forward on loan but it remains to be seen if he moves for a right winger in the wake of Arron Davies`s injury. We should all just cross our fingers and hope that the news is good on that front.
