The treatment room at Nottingham Forest could at long last, be on the way to being pretty much empty in the coming weeks, if the injured quartet of Paul Anderson, Dexter Blackstock, George Boateng and Garath McCleary continue to make good progress in their efforts to regain full fitness.

According to the official site, all four players made big strides towards returning to full fitness, in a behind closed doors friendly against York City, which the Reds’ won 2-0.

Dexter Blackstock played his first game in just over a year and bagged the second goal, in his 45 minute appearance. A delighted Blackstock said. ‘Getting through the game was all important. It was competitive, which I wanted, and I took a few tackles along the way. It was perfect and to get the goal just topped it off.’

Paul Anderson marked his second comeback game with a goal and continues to make good progress on his way back from injury. Garath McCleary and George Boateng also came through the game unscathed, after getting through 45 minutes each.
