Well, I’ll admit, I’m as shocked at this as you are.

We were all excited about when Nottingham Forest drew Derby County in the second round of the Carabao Cup, and one of the big talking points was whether or not the game was going to be televised.

A few people assumed that it would be, what with it being such a high profile fixture. In fact a few years ago, The Daily Express listed it in one of their ‘Top 20 biggest rivalries in British football’.

However, a lot of people were stunned to find out that actually, Sky Sports had decided to give the game a miss, instead opting to show Lincoln City v Everton and Newport County v West Ham United.

Needless to say, Nottingham Forest fans were both furious and confused about the decision. How can Sky decide to show games where the Premier League sides are likely to rest players, when you have one of the fiercest rivalries in British football just sat there begging for you to pick it.

I suppose the only good thing about it not being televised, is that there should be no excuse for an empty house.
