He’d certainly give us a much needed boost up top.
With the transfer window now well underway, there’s bound to be plenty of discussion about who Forest need to bring in that could give us a helping hand in finding the back of the net, especially because there was a bit of a disparity between the top two contributors last season and the rest of the pack.
Fan account In From The Trent put forward the idea of us bringing in Millwall forward Jed Wallace*. The 26-year-old has certainly been putting himself about for the South London side this season, contributing 22 goals and assists across 44 games in all competitions, which is exactly the same amount that our top man Lewis Grabban managed to chip in with (although it slanted heavily in favour of goals).
Are you confident about the summer transfer window?
Yes
No
Which is probably why a lot of Forest fans appeared to be very keen on the idea when it was floated to them on social media.
I’d be somewhat surprised, there was speculation he was on Villa’s watchlist in January (along with Joe Lolley) at a value of around £10m

He’s the calibre of player we absolutely “should” be looking at.
Which means this isn’t true.— Jonathan Antcliffe (@Jonny90nffc) August 4, 2020
A year left, id say maybe £5m tops, anything more then maybe add ons but not more than 7m

Now that would be a signing brilliant player at this level week in week out. ##

What about you? Would you be interested in us taking Wallace?
*Disclaimer: It should be pointed out that this is just one account speculating about a potential signing, there isn’t anything concrete to link him to us at this stage.
