I don’t think there’s more of an authority to speak on this matter than someone who has spent more than 25 years covering the team.
So when he says how big of a missed opportunity this was, then you know it’s true.
Speaking on social media after Nottingham Forest’s loss to Stoke City on Wednesday, journalist Paul Taylor of The Athletic said that he felt “sorry for them but also furious at them at the same time”, before going on to call this season a ‘waste’.
Having had a seven-point gap over the team who finished 6th Swansea City when the season got back underway, a series of bad results meant that Forest will have to settle for another year in the second-tier of English football.
His words acted as another spark for Forest fans to show their anger at how things have gone for the club recently.
Sack the manager. Absolutely disgusting since the restart. We’ve not deserved anything and its because of his extreme negative teams.

100% the managers fault this Paul. Set us up to ‘hang on’ in games we could and should have won. Shambles.#NFFC

Sorry but it’s a joke! No win in 6 so actually glad we don’t get embarrassed in the playoffs! Lamouchi is far too negative and I’d honestly now get rid of him!

Lamouchi can only do so much, whoever is on the pitch has to do the work and they looks nothing like what they’ve been like through the season. No resilience to pressure, no desire or ability going forward. Just awful.

Don’t feel anything for them there all a disgrace

I can’t feel sorry for them. They need to be ashamed of themselves

What about you? What do you make of Taylor’s comments?
