Huddersfield Sign Garner On Loan

Billy Davies had confirmed recently that he would be willing to let some fridge players at Forest move on, one of them was Joe Garner, who has now left on a 6-month loan deal to Huddersfield.

Garner has joined the league one side until the New Year, although his Forest career is not over just yet by all accounts.

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark revealed, on the official Huddersfield site, that he wanted to sign the 22-year-old last January but his approach was refused. He also revealed that he wanted to sign the striker on a permanent basis, and the initial moves were for a permanent move, although as Davies still sees a possible long-term future for him at The City Ground they have taken him on an initial loan.

There is no doubting that Garner knows where the goal is, overall his track record proves this, although things have not quite worked out as would have been liked since his £1.1m move to Forest from Carlisle in 2008 – this loan move away should benefit everyone though.

He could play tonight against his first professional club Blackburn when Huddersfield entertain the premier league side in a pre-season friendly.
