Despite being named Man of the Match, Jack Robinson had an afternoon to forget as his Nottingham Forest side lost 1-0 at home to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon. He was beaten by his former club and made the mistake of drawing the ire of the QPR fans with his pre-match comments.

Robinson left the club in controversial circumstances over the summer, turning down a new contract with the Londoners for a bigger deal with Forest. He further soured his relationship with Rangers supporters by saying QPR “could be blown away” by Forest on Saturday.

Unsurprisingly, their fans were desperate to get one over the Reds and end their hoodoo at the City Ground. So when Robinson was beaten to a header by match-winner Tony Leister, who was signed to replace him at QPR last summer, supporters took to social media to rub it in.

Even club owner Tony Fernandes got involved. Robinson’s departure left a sour taste in the mouth as he’d struggled with injuries in his four years at Loftus Road and showed little sentimentality in the manner of his exit. QPR certainly got their own back on the defender who may think twice about what he says before a game in future.
