Having completed one of their biggest signings of the summer in Tiago Silva, it looks as if Nottingham Forest are that much closer to getting their second over the line too.
Having been linked with Manchester City’s Kosovan goalkeeper Arijanet Muric for some time now, Midlands reporter John Percy tweeted over the weekend that the deal was nearing its conclusion.
This should hopefully put a stop to any other speculation regarding the goalkeeper position this summer. There had been reports previously that Forest were looking to bring in free agent Abdoulaye Diallo to the City Ground instead, following the appointment of Sabri Lamouchi, who worked together at Stade Rennais.
As I previously wrote, whilst every manager should be allowed to make his own decisions and not be tied down by the previous regime, making the move for Diallo rather than Muric would be the wrong one.
So with the news coming out that the move was edging closer, Forest fans couldn’t contain their excitement that someone highly rated by Pep Guardiola is set to join the club. Although there were a few who, despite the big news, decided to take the more pragmatic approach and asked the question about the goalkeeping situation as it stands.
Queue Derby fans replying he’s rubbish.

Very happy with that. Even though he kept 15 clean sheets i don’t think pantilmon is good enough if we want promotion
