Homeward Bound?

United captain Kevin Gray has told The Sporting Life, ‘He’d be a good addition to any squad – let alone ours – so we’ll have to wait and see what transpires.

‘I think he’s dangerous, very lively and he can score goals as well. I’ve played against him once or twice and he’s a real handful for centre-halves.’

United manager Neil McDonald has stated his desire to get in a new striker and would find it easier to tempt him away from the City Ground than Bristol City did last week.

It has been widely reported on several forums in recent days that Holt would only leave Forest if his home town club came in for him. The Reds’ signed him from Rochdale last January for £300,000. He is currently the clubs’ top scorer with 9 goals and was given a heroes welcome when coming on as a second half substitute at the weekend against Millwall, having turned down the approaches of The Robins earlier in the week.
