Hibs defender Rob Jones has long been a Forest target and was the subject of a failed bid from the Reds’, during the January transfer window. Since then, it’s been rumoured that a deal was put in place to bring him to the City Ground in the summer.

Hibernian boss Mixu Paatelainen was being tight lipped in his post match interview on Setanta Sports News following his teams 0-0 draw with Celtic, saying. “I don`t want to begin with the speculation. We will have to wait and see what happens over the summer – nothing will be decided until then. But Rob Jones has been fantastic all season. He is a player who dominates his area and would be a valuable player to any squad.”

Forest fans wont have long to wait in finding out, with the Scottish Premier season finishing next Sunday. Hibs’ last game is away at Aberdeen, so hopefully sometime the following week, his signing will be announced by the Reds’.

Jones has been a main stay at the heart of the Hibs defence this year having played 34 games. He’s got a decent disciplinary record as well, having only been booked 7 times. He’s also chipped in with 4 goals. If his signature is confirmed, he will be a welcome addition, because as we all know the defence was our weakest link last season.
