Nottingham Forest go into battle this Saturday with current Championship table toppers Sheffield United.
We welcome Chris Wilder’s side to the City Ground with six points separating us and victory could see Forest move into the Play-Off spots depending on results elsewhere. Plenty of changes are expected compared to the lineup manager Aitor Karanka led with for the EFL Cup defeat to Burton Albion in midweek, but with Jack Colback already ruled out given his suspension, a number of fans have taken to social media to implore Karanka to not bring midfielder Ben Watson back into the side for the game.
The 33-year-old has been a regular for the former Middlesbrough boss this season and he already has 13 appearances to his name, but for a number of fans his performances just haven’t been up to scratch lately and given the general agreement is he’s a good bloke, a fair few feel he should be taken out of the firing line as he doesn’t deserve the treatment he’s currently getting.
I would agree with Watson, way past his best (whatever that was) but dont agree with that on Osborn. There were 10 worse players than him against burton. I think Fox is also out?

Whats the betting it'll still be Watson that comes in.

The Ben Watson situation at NFFC is doing my head in, Karanka has simply got to take him out of the firing line. He deserves abit more respect than he is getting from our fans at the min for the career he has had but ultimately he shouldn’t be playing. AK’s got to sort it #nffc

Very true, personally I’d like to see Yates or Bridcutt in there alongside Colback but think he doesn’t fancy Bridcutt – was top drawer vs Newcastle and then didn’t get a sniff until Burton…admit he was not up to scratch then but with no football for x weeks never gonna be!

Karanka strikes me as one or these proud managers that must give game time to his own signings. We will do ok with our best available team, but not buying this strength in depth rubbish. Embarrassing losing to that burton side.

Get rid of Watson completely. Get Yates in

yes yes yes – Colback Yacob Gueds are the 3 we should choose our 2 from IMO

Why Colback wasn’t suspended for the midweek tie is beyond me and it’s clear many thought he would serve his suspension in that one, but given midfield will be a battle, I can see a lot of sense in Claudio Yacob finally get himself up and running with us.
