Have A Little Patience

Without an away win in 2007 and sitting five points off the league, which we have led for the majority of the season. Is it time for Calderwood to go? The answer is simply NO.

Fans are beginning to call for the former Spurs and Villa full back`s head as fear that the side`s current drop in form could see the team condemned to third tear of English football for another season.

At this crucial stage of the season, us fans should be backing and the manager ahead of a big home come to Blackpool and tough looking away trip at rivals Chesterfield.

Yes, some team selections in recent weeks have left us with unanswered questions, as has the number of outgoings in the January transfer window. However, this is the same man who led us to a 7-point lead and persuaded David Prutton to return to the club.

Are we expecting too much? We are still very much in a position to win promotion and cannot expect to steam roll the league. Every time Forest play away it is their opponents biggest game and this gives them extra motivation.

At the back end of last season under Barlow and McParland the team went on an incredible run and I along with Calderwood believe the team are capable of this and will achieve promotion. We have had a dip in form and those around us will slip up at some point, it`s an unwritten rule.

If Calderwood were to leave who could he be replaced with? Another short-term fix like Joe Kinnear! Calderwood has done enough during his short time at the club to show us that he is the man to lead us back to he Championship and beyond.

Football managers seem to have very little time to prove themselves in today`s game and England`s current situation with Steve Mclaren echoes this view. This is not right.
Clubs like Charlton are now facing the consequences of replacing the right man for the job at the wrong time.

We are not expecting too much here at Forest but are not looking at the bigger picture. Forest should be challenging for promotion and that is what we are doing. Running away with the league was wishful thinking brought about by a good start to the season.

We are a long way away from panic station yet sitting just two points off an automatic promotion spot. Six points are next two games and everything will be rosy again.

The best think we can do now is back the team and have a little patience.
