And the run just keeps getting longer and longer.

Nottingham Forest made it nine games unbeaten under Sabri Lamouchi as they dispatched Barnsley 1-0 at the City Ground.

Although perhaps the biggest moment of the day came on the 15th minute where the fans stopped to applaud the memory of Nottingham Forest’s greatest ever manager Brian Clough, who passed away 15 years ago this week.

There were a number of chances created in the first half, however, neither side could find the breakthrough as the game reached went into halftime level, and Forest fans were not impressed by what they saw.

Just over ten minutes into the second half and Forest took the lead through a rather surprising source. Ben Watson was on hand to poke home a Matty Cash cross to score his first-ever goal for the club.

Although there were chances for both sides with time ticking away, there were to be no more goals and Forest held on to victory which saw them move up to fifth in the table.

I feel it’s worth pointing out, seeing as this was the day we honoured Brian Clough, that the Forest undefeated record stands at 42. I’m just saying.
