Lincoln City have announced the signing of Nottingham Forest midfielder Liam Bridcutt on a permanent deal ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Having joined Forest from Leeds in August 2017, Bridcutt fell out of favour at The City Ground during the 2018/19 campaign, making just a single league appearance during his second season with the club.
After that, the midfielder joined Bolton on loan in the summer of 2019, before switching to Lincoln on a temporary basis in the 2020 January transfer window.
Bridcutt went on to make five appearances for the Imps prior to the curtailment of the 2019/20 season, and has now extended his stay at Sincil Bank, after making his move to the club permanent following the expiry of his contract with Forest.
Taking to Twitter to react to news of Bridcutt’s new deal with Lincoln, plenty of Forest fans were keen to pay tribute to the midfielder for his contribution to the club, with many wishing him well for his time at Lincoln.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.

Underrated at @NFFC. Unfortunately our managers only seem to value tall midfielders that run about a bit but get nosebleeds and stage fright in the opposition’s half 🤷♂️
Good luck to you Liam, you’ll shine in this league 👍

That’s a great move for him, he was unlucky to fall out of the squad at Forest, never felt like he got his chance. I hope he does well for you!

Great footballer. Underused at Forest. Always looked quality to me. Will be an asset no doubt.

Great signing always wish he had more of a chance at Forest better than half of the mids we’ve had

Very good signing for you guys 👍 really not sure why he didn’t get more game time at Forest, I thought he did well when he played for us. Good luck Liam and good luck Lincoln for next season 👍
