The nature of the transfer window dictates that when players arrive, often, players must also depart. This was demonstrated by the club today, as Luke Steele became a Forest player, Stefanos Kapino departed the club.
Stefanos Kapino’s career as a Nottingham Forest player has been officially concluded today, as the 24-year-old has joined Werder Bremen. Kapino was signed under the illusion that he could thrive for the club, but the Greek goalkeeper disappointed during the appearances that he made for the club.
At the age of 24, the keeper has considerable time to improve and refine his abilities, and he could develop into a very accomplished player. He’s clearly talented; perhaps Forest wasn’t the right club for him.
Personally, with Costel Pantilimon as our first-choice goalkeeper, and having secured the services of Luke Steele, it makes sense to part ways with Kapino. The deal is mutually beneficial for all affiliated with the transfer.
Here’s how Forest supporters have responded to his departure on social media.
Well that was a worthwhile signing for us….
