Forest striker Dexter Blackstock has undergone knee surgery to repair the damaged knee ligament injury he picked up in the 2-0 win at Cardiff last month.

Blackstock sustained the horrific injury following an innocent enough looking challenge, with City’s Seyi Olofinjana towards the end of the match in which he scored the second goal of the game, that secured victory for the Reds’.

Dex is now recovering in hospital and faces at least a year out of the game on his road to recovery. Billy Davies said. ‘It has gone as well as we hoped it would. Obviously Dexter is in a lot of pain at the moment and is still in hospital just now. We’re pleased with the way things have gone and the surgeons and medical people are also pleased. But there’s no doubt the boy is going through a lot of pain at the moment, which is inevitable.’

It’s going to be a long road back for Dex and I’m sure I speak for every Forest fan out there, when I say we would like to all wish him well. Good luck Dexter Blackstock.
