Following the arrivals of Lewis Grabban and Hillal Soudani, it feels that our attack is complete ahead of the forthcoming season, but recent reports indicate that we continue to monitor Jack Marriott’s situation at Peterborough.

According to Bristol Live, Forest are one of four Championship teams who are interested in the services of the prolific forward. Derby and Bristol City have reportedly had bids rejected for the 23-year-old, while we’ve yet to make a proposal along with Leeds United.

There’s no doubting that the forward is exceedingly talented, who is endowed with great potential. Remarkably, he scored 33 goals in all competitions last season, and with that in mind, it’s easy to see why we’re interested in his signature.

Here’s how Forest fans have reacted to the rumours on Twitter.

Verdict:

He has yet to illustrate his credentials in the Championship, and to me, it seems counter-intuitive that we would pursue his signature having already signed Grabban and Soudani, in addition to several other attacking players.

As I mentioned previously, he is a tremendous player, and I can envisage him making a purposeful impact wherever he goes. Nonetheless, he isn’t what we require at this moment in time. Although, given recent speculation, he could potentially be on his way to the City Ground.
