Fourteen Hours Later…..And Still None The Wiser

Like most Forest fans, I’ve spent the entire day sat infront of a computer screen scouring the internet for news of the much anticipated sacking/resignation/leaving by mutual consent, of Colin Calderwood.

The day started well, logging on nice and early to be greeted with the wondrous, though not entirely surprising news that Big Sam Allardyce was to be announced as the new Forest boss. Vital Forest, like most of the Forest forums today, went close to melt down with every man and his dog logging on to search for the latest info. As per usual, rumours were in plentiful supply, from the hopeful and speculative, to the downright bizarre. Sky Sports News had supposedly set up camp in the City Ground car park and representitives from the NEP were in attendance as well.

According to ‘sources’, the club was to announce the departure of CC at around noon, then it was two and then it was four. Just as you were getting the feeling that you’d been had good style, ala Martin O’Neill, the NEP hit us with the bombshell, that Big Sam had turned us down. To rub salt in the wounds, they tell us that CC’s successor will be none other than former Sheepshagger, Billy Davies!

My eyes are bleeding now and my fingers have worn away to stumps, from hitting the refresh button so often. I haven’t eaten, washed, or taken a leak for fear of missing the announcement. I’m now left cursing the fact I follow this Goddamn club and am beginning to think I should get a life. The worst thing about this horrible, wasted and pointless day, is that at the end of it all, Calderwood is still in charge.
