It’s 1st v 2nd in the League 1 clash of the Titans on Tuesday night, as Forest welcome Swansea to the City Ground.

The Swans sit proudly on top of the table and are there on merit having showed a consistent run of form all season really. They have only lost twice on their travels and arrive in town on the back of an impressive 4-0 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Doncaster on Friday night. That 4-0 win helped them to a goal difference of + 30, opposed to the Reds GD of +22. They remain unbeaten in 15 league games, with the only blot on their copy book being the FA Cup defeat at the hands of Havant and Waterlooville.

The last five games for Forest sees us with 2 wins a draw and 2 defeats. We might not be as consistent at the moment, but if they are up for the game and they will have to be, then all is set for a cracking match. On our day we can be a match for any side, I just hope it’s our day because with the Swans having an 11 point cushion aheads of us we need to start clawing away at that now.

The game has that added bit of spice as we get to welcome the one and only Dorus De Vries to the home of football. You may recall his foolish comments after the 0-0 draw at the Liberty. He said ”Forest should get the hell out of here quickly because they must be feeling ashamed after getting hammered like that. They celebrated like they had won the Carling Cup and I suppose if a draw is what they came for they’ve done well. But we hammered them – they had one shot and didn’t do anything else in the game.’ I’m sure we’ll all give Dora a warm City Ground welcome.

Vital Quotes:

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Forest have given McGugan a clean bill of health, after he picked up a knock in the 2-2 draw with Millwall. Apart from Agogo who is on international duty with Ghana, CC should be able to pick from a fully fit squad. Decisions will have to be made as to whether Commons regains his place after being dropped for the game at the New Den.

Player to watch: Nathan Tyson

He returned from injury with a goal last week and looks to be back to his best. He’ll be looking to remain fit and injury free for the rest of the campaign. If he can do that, then things are looking good for the Reds.

Swansea City Team News:

None available yet. Updates later.

Player to watch: Jason Scotland

Signed by Martinez in the summer from St. Johnstone, he’s bagged 15 goals in all competitions so far this season. He’s 28 and is a Trinidad and Tobago international. Will definitely need to be watched.

It’s gonna be a bumpy one, but I’m going for a tense 2-1 to the Reds.
