Mick McCarthy, the man who spurned the Forest job, brings his Tractor Boys Trentside, in the latest Championship fixture at The City Ground.

Luke Chambers, David McGoldrick & Paul Anderson could all play against their former club and manager, as they seek to get into play off contention – whilst Forest themselves try to cement their spot.

Forest’s injury list deepened further this week, with news that both Greg Halford and Gonzalo Jara face late fitness tests. They add to long term absentees; Chris Cohen, Dexter Blackstock & Kelvin Wilson, with Danny Collins, Darius Henderson and David Vaughan still expected to be around 2 weeks away.

Forest’s last home win came against Derby County on 28th September, since then there have been 2 home defeats (Blackpool & Reading) and 2 draws (Bournemouth & Burnley).

Ipswich have not lost an away game since 22nd September (at Wigan) but since then they boast an impressive away record of 3 draws and 2 wins – winning their last 3 fixtures. Their only defeat in the last 7, came at home against Leicester.

With Forest’s depleted numbers, Ipswich having an almost fully fit squad and their own run of good form – this looks to be a tough test for the men in Garibaldi.

Let’s hope Santa brings a home win for the last home match before Christmas.
