Forest need to kick 2008 off with a win after the setback at Gillingham at the weekend. That will be easier said than done as we welcome the Terriers of Huddersfield into town for the first game of the New Year.
Huddersfield are currently suffering from a case of mid table mediocrity as they lie in 13th place. The good news for them though, is they are only 6 points from a playoff placing. Their form at the moment is inconsistent and they’re struggling to put a run together. The form guide shows they have lost 7 and won only 4 away from the Galpharm. Scoring is a problem for the Terriers when on their travels, as they have only hit the target 7 times, whilst conceding 23. As we know only too well, the form guide counts for nothing at this time of year when teams come to the City Ground.
But why all the doom and gloom? We’re in 2nd spot in the table, a point ahead of Lucky Leeds and Doncaster (where the hell did they come from?). We’ve only lost 1 game at home this season and have a GD of +18 against the Terriers -13. On paper we should walk it lads!
The game at the Galpharm back in October ended 1-1, but was marred with the sending off of Hudds player Cadamarteri, for over celebrating his goal. It was the right decision according to the rule book, but the wrong one because it’s a stupid one. Commons got the equaliser soon after and jumped into the Reds dug out to celebrate, he got a yellow for that which somewhat makes a joke of the ruling. Anyway, all that aside it should be a good game, as we look to get back on the winning track with a decent home crowd and a fair few from Yorkshire to add to the atmosphere.

It will be the usual suspects for the Reds. Tyson will definitely be out and Bennett is also expected to be absent, despite the OS saying he was available for the game at Gillingham.

Junior should have scored a hat trick on Saturday, so the clubs top scorer with 10 will be looking to make amends before he heads off to the ACON.
