Forest v Glovers: Preview

A sellout crowd will be present to hopefully witness an end to three years of hurt in the graveyard of football that is League 1. For that to happen, we need to win of course and for Donny to fall at Cheltenham. If the stars align themselves correctly and we have a lot of luck along the way, then the celebrations will begin and we can all look forward to a beautiful summer, ahead of a season in the Championship.

Yeovil of course were last years’ party poopers and put a swift end to our promotion hopes in the ill fated Play Off semi final. So it’s ironic that 12 months later we might actually get sweet revenge for that and once and for all, get out of this footballing wilderness, if results elsewhere go our way.

The Glovers failed to push on from what was an excellent season for them last year. Beaten Play Off Finalists was a great achievement for the club that was in the Conference a short time ago. This time round they have struggled and currently sit in 18th place on 52 points. Last week they lost 1-0 away at Leeds, but had previously won 2-1 at Swansea, so they are more than capable of an upset, but we already know that.

Famous people from Somerset:

Ian Botham, Terry Pratchett and Arthur C. Clarke all hail from here. John Cleese lays claim to the area as of course does the most famous of them all, King Arfur. I was hoping The Wurzels came from there, but they are credited with coming from Brizzle.

Vital Quotes:

Forest winger Kris Commons astounded us with his insight and wisdom, when he said. ‘If we get three points and Doncaster can slip up that would be very special.’

Nottingham Forest Team News:

The Reds’ should have a fully fit squad to pick from. Ormerod has returned to training and should make the game and there could be welcome recalls for Agogo and Bennett.

Player to watch: Nathan Tyson

The stage is set for the ace marksman to show us he can hack it on the big stage. We are counting on him to deliver after he missed the end of the last campaign through injury.

Yeovil Town Team News:

Updates later.

Player to watch: Marcus Stewart

Not the most gifted, but scores important goals for the club.

Match Facts & Stats

The two sides have only met 5 times in the League and Forest have won 4 and lost 1. Earlier this season we beat them at Huish Park 3-0.

Match Prediction:

Nervous and tense, but a 2-1 victory to the Reds. What happens elsewhere, is anyone’s guess.
