First-choice goalkeeper Paul Smith can expect a recall for Nottingham Forest’s home clash with Brentford on Saturday afternoon.
Smith was replaced by Rune Pedersen for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy clash with the Bees which Forest won 2-1.
Ian Breckin, Danny Cullip and Neil Harris are also expected to feature after enjoying an evening off in midweek.
Striker Scott Dobie may be back from long-term hip problems and, latterly, a thigh injury, but the game is likely to come too soon, while midfielder Ross Gardner has also recovered from thigh trouble but is unlikely to feature.
Gary Holt has yet to recover from knee surgery but fellow forward Nathan Tyson is back in training following medial knee ligament damage, although he is not expected to return to first-team contention until Christmas.
Brentford could be without Adam Griffiths for their second meeting with Nottingham Forest in five days on Saturday afternoon.
After losing 2-1 at the City Ground in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in midweek, the Bees make the same trip for Saturday’s clash as they look to end a run of 10 League One matches without a win.
But influential defender Griffiths could be forced to miss the match after suffering a groin strain.
Manager Leroy Rosenior will also give late fitness tests to goalkeeper Stuart Nelson, defender Sam Tillen (both ankle) and forward Chris Moore (virus), while striker Calum Willock is out for six weeks with a fractured eye socket sustained at Oldham last weekend.
Rosenior said: ‘I am concerned about our recent run, but I know we will come out of it. We just need a win – it doesn’t matter how it comes.’
Forward Lloyd Owusu remains a long-term casualty with a groin injury.
