Forest welcome Charlton Athletic to the City Ground on Saturday and will go in search of their first point since beating Watford 3-2 on August 23.
The Reds’ are currently sitting just one place off the basement with 4 points after 6 games, whereas the Addicks sit in 8th with 9 points. Alan Pardew’s side have yet to lose on their travels and have won 1 and drawn 2 on the road so far.
Colin Calderwood’s main problem at the moment is in defence. The Reds’ have the worst goal difference in the division at present with -7 and will need to address this problem immediately before things get any worse. Rumours of a loan signing are rife, but unlikely to happen in time for this game.
Nottingham Forest Team News:
It’s the same old story in the treatment room for Forest, with Anderson, Garner, Davies and McGugan still out. Julian Bennett is also likely to be missing again, as he is struggling to get over a calf strain
Player to watch: Robert Earnshaw
Scoring for fun at present and if we can give him enough of the ball, then he’s always going to be a danger.
Charlton Athletic Team News:
Alan Pardew has named an unchanged side for his last two games. Following his first away win at Doncaster in midweek, he’s likely to do the same again.
Player to watch: Andy Gray
The former Forest striker is in fine form this season and has bagged 4 goals already. He only scored once in 64 appearances for us, but will have to be watched closely by our nomadic defence.
Match Facts & Stats
The Addicks just about claim the bragging rights, with 11 wins from 30 League games. Forest have won 10 and drawn 9. Last time we met was last season in the FA Cup, when we beat them 2-0 at the City Ground.
It’s hard to see a Forest win, but forever the optimist I’ll say 3-2 to the good guys.
