Forest’s second string completed a league double at a windswept Wilford Lane with the minimum of fuss thanks to a Tyler Walker double and a cross cum shot from full back Kamal Guthmy.

In direct contrast to the defeat at Birmingham last week, Charlie McParland’s side scored early rather than conceding, as a short corner was worked back to Jorge Grant whose precise cross was tapped in by Walker.

Aside from set pieces, Ross Durrant’s goal was rarely threatened, apart from one occasion when Kelvin Wilson left a long ball and Wednesday front man Savic failed to capitalise

Post interval, Walker was on hand to nod in Grant’s cross to double Forest’s lead, with the midfielder showing great skill and exact delivery under pressure.

Shortly afterwards Guthmy pinged a sweet strike past Joe Wildsmith into the top corner to seal a routine win and saw his side hang on to the clean sheet. This was despite Ryan Sellars’ back pass with five minutes left, which almost resulted in a consolation goal for the visitors who featured ex Reds star David Prutton in their line up

TEAM: Durrant, Polimos. Guthmy. Rees, Sellars, Wilson (Hollingsworth 38), Blake, Grant, Walker (Otim 74), McLaughlin, Wallace. Unused subs: Gorman, Mulraney, Kelly
