Forest Top Of League – Unfortunately

Nottingham Forest had more arrests than any other team in League 1 for the 2006/7 season, according to Home Office figures.

There were 62 arrests at the ground last year. Millwall came 2nd with 57.

Club safety officer Alan Bexon told the BBC . ‘The figures are high because the club attracts more fans than any other team in the division. The club gets an average of 20,000 per game, whilst others get around 12,000.’

The club does adopt a no nonsense policy inside the ground. Some would say a little too heavy handed at times. There’s no doubting the City Ground is a safer place to go these days and instances of violence are few and far between.

Is this because of the methods employed by the club or over zealous policing? Join in the debate now. Sign up and Register for Vital Forest today.
