Forest Strengthen Defensive Options With 18 Month Deal – “Future Championship Icon”

|

Tunisian international centre-half Yohan Benalouane has today penned a deal at Nottingham Forest following a switch from Premier League side Leicester City.

The 31-year-old defender has signed an 18 month long deal at The City Ground after both clubs agreed an officially undisclosed fee for his services.

Having come through St Etienne’s youth system he’s gone on to play for Cesena, Parma, Atalanta and Fiorentina, and although he was part of the Leicester squad that won the Premier League title a few years back, he did only receive limited game time for them. Having joined the Foxes back in 2015, he departs with only 24 starting appearances for them.

His arrival makes him Martin O’Neill first capture of the January transfer window following his own arrival as our new manager.

Seems a very steady and solid signing, albeit unspectacular, but with known defensive issues at the club given the current spate of injuries, he presumably goes straight into the side this weekend for the Bristol City clash and his experience should certainly help.
