The Scottish Daily Mail‘s Stephen McGowan believes that Joe Worrall “will finalise” a loan move to Rangers before Friday’s deadline.

The reporter also claims that medicals have been arranged for both the centre-back and Osijek winger Eros Grezda, although there hasn’t been any confirmation that the 21-year-old has actually agreed to join the Scottish club yet.

Worrall is currently fifth choice centre-back at the club with Danny Fox, Tobias Figueiredo, Michael Dawson and Michael Hefele all favoured ahead of the England Under 21 international by manager Aitor Karanka.

Reports have suggested that we are reluctant for the player to move North of the border with a switch to a Championship side being our preferred choice.

However, the Daily Record reported yesterday that Gers boss Steven Gerrard had personally phoned the club in order to convince us that the defender would be a regular first team player.

Worrall played 35 times in all competitions last season, but he has yet to make a single appearance so far this campaign.
