Joe Worrall will have his medical with Rangers today after a loan fee was agreed for the defender, according to the Daily Record.

We have been given assurances that the 21-year-old will play regular first-team football during his spell in the Scottish Premiership.

Worrall was again not involved in last night’s 3-1 win over Newcastle, as it is believed he was travelling up to Glasgow to complete his temporary switch.

Receiving a fee for the centre-back would have likely swayed the club’s thinking about letting the player leave to play in Scotland.

There was reportedly some reluctance about loaning the player to Rangers, with a move to another Championship club said to be our preferred option.

However, it now looks almost certain that he will be plying his trade at Ibrox for the remainder of the season. With four players ahead of him in the battle for first-team places, the centre-half will be hoping to impress Aitor Karanka during his spell away from the club.
