Forest are expected to announce the signings of Dele Adebola from Bristol City, David McGoldrick from Southampton and Paul McKenna from Preston.

The news of Adebola making his way to the City Ground on a free transfer is practically expected, with us having been linked with him back in January. The news on McGoldrick may cause a few eyebrows to lift, especially as he was rumoured to have turned us down last year. He’s a local lad and former Notts County youth player.

McGoldrick would command a fee, as he is tied to the Saints until 2011. But he could come at a bargain, what with the Saints’ well documented financial difficulties.

The best bit of news will be the signing of Preston captain Paul McKenna. The midfielder may be 31, but he is vastly experienced and is an old fashioned one club man, having been at Deepdale since 1992. He’s made over 400 appearances for them and has been an everpresent in their side this year. He’s played for Billy before and recognised as one of the best midfielders in the Championship. All we need now is for them to be officially announced on the OS!
