Motherwell and former Oldham striker Chris Porter is being strongly linked with a move to the City Ground in January and according to the
NEP, he’s seen as a priority signing by Colin Calderwood.

Forest may face competition for Porter’s services from fellow Championship rivals Sheffield United, who are rumoured to be interested as well. They are reported to have made a £250,000 bid for the former Oldham hit man.

Porter is 6ft,1′ and could be the target man we’re looking for to bolster the goal shy frontline we have at present. Garner and Earnshaw could be provided with an ideal strike partner if the deal comes off. His stats for this season may not be earth shattering, but he has been a potent scorer in the past. So far this season, he’s scored 4 goals in 17 appearances for Motherwell and has been sent off once.
