Plenty have tried it seems, but Nottingham Forest could be the side that finally manage to lure Hibernian’s free scoring Jason Cummings into English Football.

23 goals in 39 appearances last season helped Hibernian back into the Scottish Premiership, after an absence of three years. But Cummings isn’t necessarily going to join Hibs in the topflight as the Daily Mail reports Forest are looking to push through a £1m-plus deal for the Scotland international.

A player familiar with Warburton, Hibs’ Cummings found the back of the net four times against Rangers during the Forest boss’ spell in charge at Ibrox.

Cummings is under contract until 2020, he penned a new deal after interest from League One side Peterborough was spurned last summer, but his future at Easter Road was uncertain before this rumoured Forest interest. The Mail says the Reds will look to wrap up his signing this week with talks set to continue.

Warburton believes Cummings, 21, can have the same impact in England he has north of the border, topping Hibs’ goalscoring chats for the past few seasons, which has always seen him subject of interest from numerous clubs.
