Naturally, given the volume of our expenditure in the transfer window, we’re forced to discard some of our unwanted players. And according to Aitor Karanka’s latest comments, it appears that the club are in the process of trying to sell those who are deemed surplus to requirements.

As per Nottinghamshire Live, there are eight players that the club are intent on selling before the conclusion of the transfer window. The eight players are Michael Mancienne, Barrie McKay, Jamie Ward Apostolos Vellios, Zach Clough, Gboly Ariyibi, Stephen Henderson and Dimi Evtimov.

With less than a few weeks remaining in the transfer window, it’s likely that there will be a flurry of outgoings over the course of forthcoming weeks. Here’s what Aitor Karanka has said on the matter. The following quotes are from Nottinghamshire Live.

“The club is working in all directions. We are working on the players who are coming, and we are working on the players who are moving out.”

“But I said two months ago that they had to find their other club for the future.”

“I said in Spain as well, sometimes your expectations are big, and you expect to have better teams calling you, it can be difficult.”

Verdict:

It’s vital for any competitive team to discard their fringe players, and given the amount of money that we’ve spent this summer, it’s logical to accumulate money by selling unwanted players.
