Nottingham Forest are offering young winger Louis Walsh a chance to sign for the club with him on trial at the moment – according to the Nottingham Post.

The Reds are looking at him closely with him potentially to link up with the U23 side after playing with the side against Sheffield Wednesday earlier this week.

Walsh has been at Barnsley in his career and obviously has some talent, whilst this is a promising nod to what the club’s policy will be in the coming future.

Martin O’Neill has said that he wants to bring in British players and ones with experience of football in this country.

That surely applies to the youth levels as well, and so it is pleasing to see that movements are already being made to try and get such deals in place.

Walsh could be one to watch in the future, then, though it is a bit early to get too excited right now.
