Forest Looking At Sky Blues Keeper

According to today’s Daily Star and the BBC gossip pages Nottingham Forest have lined up a loan move for Coventry City’s Greek goalkeeper Dimitrios Konstantopoulos.

‘Dimi’ has found himself struggling to get a first team place at the Ricoh, since the arrival on loan of Manchester City’s Kasper Schmeichel. He’s also just getting over a throat operation.

There’s no doubting the desperation we currently find ourselves in keeper wise. Smith is out of form presently and without any one to push for his place, let alone take it off him, it’s a sorry state of affairs.

Barry Richardson is the keeper coach and understudy to Smith, he’s also 38 years of age and had effectively retired. I don’t know a deal of ‘Dimi’ to be honest, but any competition for Smith has to be a good thing.

Smith has been responsible for two of the last three goals conceded by the team. I think he’s due a rest as his confidence is shot to pieces at the moment. This is only a rumour of course, but it has a certain amount of credibility about it, even if it was in the Daily Star. Can’t wait to hear the chant for him if he does sign.
