Levante have joined us in pursuing Braga midfielder Nikola Vukcevic, according to Record.

The La Liga club reportedly have money after making a €10m bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Rodrigo Battaglia, but the Montenegrin could be a cheaper option for them.

Record report that we are still a possible destination for the midfield enforcer as well, as his price has come down from €15m to between €5m (£4.5m) and €7.5m (£6.7m).

Vukcevic is a combative midfielder. He picked up 14 yellow cards last season, but he also has a decent passing range. We were first linked with him in June when A Bola (via the Nottingham Post) reported that Jorge Mendes was involved with the deal, in the same vein as Diogo Goncalves and Joao Carvalho.

Things have gone quiet since then, and it’s debatable that we are in for him now. Aitor Karanka is reportedly only after a right back before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
