It perhaps wasn`t the most entertaining game in the world at the weekend but it surely made me smile and I know it had the same impact on a lot of Reds.
Heading into the game I was expecting a lot of goals and a thrill-ride but, perhaps significantly, we didn`t get that as Aitor continued to show the impact he has had.
Of course, eventually we want to get back to attacking and putting teams away but sorting ourselves out defensively has been paramount and so to get another clean sheet and in a game where it would have been far more open under previous managers is a real boost.
Now we can look at being more attacking as well as defensively sound in the coming weeks and if we achieve that balance we`ll be a real force.
Aitor has pinpointed that, too, so let`s take a look at what has been said in response from our fans.
@Karanka: ‘The first job for us was to build a consistent and solid team, which we’ve done, but now we have to move forward and take our chances at the other end.’

Rather have nil nil results than conceding 2 or 3 every game even if we win.
