They say there’s no easy games in the Championship, but December could be a month where Billy Davies cements his place in the top six of the division.

Forest travel to Millwall on Tuesday night, with both teams going into the game on the back of defeats. The Lions took a 3-0 hammering at Leicester today, whilst the Reds’ went down to a 3-2 defeat at home to Reading on Friday night. Millwall are currently sitting just one place above the drop zone and will be looking to add some distance between them and their fellow relegation candidates.

Next Saturday sees Davies on his travels again, with a visit to Hillsborough. Owls manager Dave Jones is coming under increasing pressure, with his team sitting joint bottom in the Championship table and going into our game on the back of 2-0 defeat at Blackpool. He may be out of a job by the time our game comes around, unless he gets a result at home to table toppers Leicester on Tuesday.

The next home game for us, is on December 14, when we welcome Ipswich to the City Ground. Ipswich are safe in mid table at present on 23 points. The three toughest games of the month (on paper at least) come after the visit of Ipswich. We travel to Birmingham on the 21st, then face high flying QPR at home on Boxing Day. The final game of 2013, sees us end the year at home to Leeds Utd. They’re currently knocking on the doors to the Playoffs and when we played them in the corresponding fixture last year, then manager Sean O’Driscoll lost his job.
